'Onion' staff to lecture at IU
WHAT: Will Tracy, associate editor of The Onion, will share a multimedia presentation.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Faux news fans at Indiana University will have an opportunity to go behind the scenes of "America's Finest News Source:" The Onion. Will Tracy, associate editor of The Onion, will give a multimedia presentation at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, in Whittenberger Auditorium, sharing an intimate glimpse inside the writers' room of the award-winning satirical news source.
Sponsored by Union Board, the lecture is free and open to the public.
"The Union Board lectures committee feels bringing a cast member from The Onion to IU targets a large devout following of students and faculty alike in our Bloomington campus," lectures director George Thomas said. "With the huge popularity of satirical news comedy in today's world and journalistic techniques they use, we are confident IU students will love this program."
The audience will receive a candid look at The Onion's most famous headlines as Tracy gives a multimedia presentation about the evolution of the satirical news organization.
The Onion reaches millions of fans through print, broadcast, radio, online and mobile outlets. Founded in 1988, it has 4 million readers per week.
