McRobbie, accompanied by IU Vice President for International Affairs David Zaret, is visiting Malaysia as part of an 11-day, four-country trip, which began May 21, to Southeast Asia.

During his time in Malaysia, McRobbie will meet with representatives from the University of Malaya, the oldest university in Malaysia and one of Southeast Asia's top-ranked universities, and Universiti Teknologi MARA, established in 1956 and now Malaysia's largest institution of higher learning in terms of size and population.

On Thursday, McRobbie will attend a meeting at the Ministry of Higher Education, which is responsible for overseeing the more than 900,000 students pursuing higher education in Malaysia and seeks to make the nation a center of educational excellence.

Later that day, McRobbie will address an alumni gathering in Kuala Lumpur. IU has more than 2,600 living alumni in Malaysia. Additionally, 74 students from Malaysia were enrolled at IU last fall.

Daily blog entries from the entire trip will be prepared by Shawn Conner, associate director of international partnerships at IU, and will be made available periodically in the IU News Room section of the university's website, and on the website for the Office of the President.

Photos and additional information about the trip can be made available upon request.
