Media advisory: IU president to deliver State of University address, announce major new initiatives

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie will deliver the annual State of the University address Tuesday, Oct. 9, on the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis campus. The address will take place at 1 p.m. in the IUPUI Campus Center Theatre, on the lower level.
McRobbie, who recently concluded his fifth year as IU president, is expected to discuss progress made over the past year on several university initiatives and outline future directions in a number of key areas.
He is also expected to make major announcements concerning the university's cyberinfrastructure and research technologies as well as initiatives that will help ensure that a four-year college degree remains within the grasp of all qualified students.
All members of the IU community and the general public are invited to view the address in person or via live-stream broadcasting at broadcast.iu.edu. A reception will follow the address in the lobby just outside the Campus Center Theatre.
McRobbie's address will also be available for viewing the following ways:
- Live on IU Bloomington Campus Cable (Channel 32).
- On tape delay at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, on Digital Multicast Broadcast Channel WTIU-World 30.2 or on Comcast Cable Analog Channel 17 in Bloomington and repeated later that evening at 11:30 p.m. on Digital Multicast Channel WTIU-HD 30.1 or on WTIU Comcast Cable Analog Channel 5 in Bloomington.
