BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- As an addition to its 2013-14 season, Indiana University Auditorium will host the Barenaked Ladies with special guest Whitehorse at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22. Tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30.

This tour comes on the heels of the Barenaked Ladies' 2013 Last Summer on Earth tour with Ben Folds Five and Guster, preceded by the release of their new album "Grinning Streak," which debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Top 200. The band's first Vanguard release marked their first top 10 debut since 2003 and fourth top 10 debut overall. The album's single "Odds Are" shot to No. 2 on the iTunes Rock Songs Chart. The band recently performed the song on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

The Barenaked Ladies -- featuring guitarist/vocalist Ed Robertson, bassist/vocalist Jim Creeggan, keyboardist/vocalist Kevin Hearn and drummer/vocalist Tyler Stewart -- have sold more than 14 million albums worldwide, won eight Juno awards and earned multiple Grammy nominations. Known for such hits as "One Week," "Pinch Me, "Brian Wilson," "If I Had $1,000,000," and many more, the band also penned the theme song for the hit CBS series "The Big Bang Theory."

Earlier this year, the Barenaked Ladies and astronaut Chris Hadfield collaborated for the first space-to-earth musical performance, debuting an original song "Is Somebody Singing." The Barenaked Ladies live shows are known for their hilarious onstage banter and impromptu raps/songs.

"The Barenaked Ladies performance is the perfect nonstop-fun concert addition to the IU Auditorium lineup," IU Auditorium Director Doug Booher said. "This band is known for their hilarious and happy live performances, and we could not be more excited to host them here in Bloomington during their 2013 fall tour."
