IU Alumni Association launches IUAlumniCareers.com
Web site offers career and mentoring services for IU alumni

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- A new Web site is offering Indiana University alumni an opportunity to seek out career advice along with a tool to search for new jobs.
The IU Alumni Association has launched IUAlumniCareers.com, an online career and mentoring service for IU alumni. On the site, alumni can find and contact fellow IU alumni who are willing to offer career advice. In addition, alumni can search job listings submitted by employers who would like to hire IU graduates.
"We often receive calls from employers wanting to hire IU grads. Now we'll have a way to connect them," said Joan Hall, director of membership for IUAA.
IUAlumniCareers.com is designed specifically for alumni. The service is available to alumni from any degree program, career background or IU campus. On the site, alumni can search for mentors and job postings using a variety of criteria. They also can upload their resumes and cover letters to the site and sign up to receive automatic e-mails about job postings in their areas of interest.
Employers and mentors have been registering on IUAlumniCareers.com since Nov. 1. Employers can register to post job openings at no charge. The postings are approved by IUAA before being added to the site.
IU alumni can register as mentors to give career advice to their fellow alumni. Mentors may choose how often and in what manner they wish to be contacted, and they may opt out of the mentor program at any time.
Alumni must be members of the IU Alumni Association in order to access job postings and search for alumni mentors. Any IU alumnus or alumna can sign up to be a mentor.
