Finalists announced for dean of College of Arts and Sciences at IU Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Lauren Robel, dean of the Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington and chairperson of the search committee for the position of dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, announced today (May 3) the names of three finalists for the position.
The candidates, who will visit the Bloomington campus during the next two weeks, are Bennett I. Bertenthal, professor of psychology and computational neuroscience and senior fellow of the Computation Institute at the University of Chicago; Edward Donnerstein, dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Arizona; and Eric M. Friedlander, the Henry S. Noyes Professor of Mathematics at Northwestern University.
"The candidate pool was exceptionally strong, and all three finalists are outstanding candidates," Robel said. "The committee intends to forward its recommendation to Interim Provost (Michael) McRobbie immediately after the finalists have completed their visits to the Bloomington campus."
