IU Alumni Association elects new officers

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Four Indiana University graduates have been elected to the Board of Managers of the IU Alumni Association. The 2006-07 board includes MaryEllen Kiley Bishop, chair-elect; Stephen Moberly, vice-chair; Brian P. Williams, secretary; and Ingrid Miller Toschlog, treasurer.
They join Stanley A. Fox, chair, who was elected last year; Alma Powell, immediate past chair; and Ken Beckley, president and CEO of IUAA.
The Board of Managers provides general management and supervision of the affairs of the IU Alumni Association. Members of the board serve one-year terms, and the secretary and treasurer may serve up to five consecutive terms.
Kiley Bishop is a partner with Drewry Simmons Vornehm in Indianapolis concentrating in estate planning and administration. She earned her bachelor's degree in 1979 and her law degree in 1982, both from IU. An IUAA life member, Bishop is a former member of the Executive Council and serves as a member of the IUAA Audit Committee and of the IU School of Medicine Planned Giving Committee. She is a distinguished fellow of the Indianapolis and Indiana State Bar associations. Bishop and her husband, Michael, live in Carmel, Ind.
Moberly is executive director of the not-for-profit Indiana Retired Teachers Association, headquartered in Indianapolis. After earning a bachelor's degree in 1963 and a law degree in 1966, both from IU, he practiced law for 30 years in Shelbyville, Ind., until his retirement in 1997. An IUAA life member, Moberly is a former member of the Executive Council and chaired the IUAA Strategic Directions Task Force in 2004-05. He is a past president of the John Whittenberger Society and of the Shelby County (Ind.) Chapter of the IUAA. He received the IUAA President's Award in 1995. Moberly and his wife, Sandy, live in Bloomington.
Williams received his bachelor's degree in 1978 and his law degree in 1981, both from IU. He is a partner at Kahn Dees Donovan & Kahn in Evansville, Ind. An IUAA life member, he serves on the alumni board of the IU School of Law-Bloomington and has served on the IUAA's Executive Council. Williams received the School of Law-Bloomington's Distinguished Service Award in 1998. He is the immediate past president of the Evansville Bar Association and a 2001 recipient of its Gresham Freedom Award. Williams resides in Evansville with his wife, Barbara.
Toschlog is the bursar at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. She earned her bachelor's degree from IU in 1987. An IUAA life member, she is president of the School of Continuing Studies Alumni Association and a community captain for Hoosiers for Higher Education. She received the IUAA President's Award in 1995 and a Distinguished Alumni Award from IU East in 2003. A former Executive Council member, Toschlog is treasurer of the Indiana Association of College and University Business Officers. She lives in Indianapolis and has two sons, both of whom have attended IU.
In addition, 10 at-large members were elected to three-year terms on the Executive Council, the policy-making body of the IUAA:

- Patricia L. Hargus Williams, of Bloomington, Ind.
The new officers and at-large members will begin their terms July 1.
