Jimmy L. Ross, the first director of the IU Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid and a familiar friend to many students, alumni, faculty and staff of Indiana University, died Thursday (May 23) after a long illness.
You are invited to a memorial service for Ross today (May 28) at 1 p.m. at the IU Auditorium. Everyone also is welcome to a reception that will follow in the Grand Hall of the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center immediately afterward.
Ross led the financial aid office between 1973 and 1988. He continued to remain involved in IU activities and was visible in the community after his early retirement in 1988 due to a degenerative spinal condition.
