Media Advisory -- Wednesday's IU Business Conference

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Feb. 26, 2007

Editors: Arrangements have been made for print and electronic media covering Wednesday's (Feb. 28 ) Indiana University Business Conference -- "The 21st Century Imperatives for Business: Energy and the Environment" -- at the Indiana Convention Center, 100 S. Capitol Ave. in Indianapolis.

The media is welcome to cover the entire program, which is presented by IU's Kelley School of Business.

Among those participating in a morning-long panel discussion at the conference will be Andrew N. Liveris, president, chief executive officer and chairman of the Dow Chemical Co.; Robert A. Malone, chairman and president of BP America; and T.M. "Tim" Solso, chairman and chief executive officer of Cummins Inc.

Two other speakers -- James E. Rogers, president and chief executive officer of Duke Energy; and Phil Sharp, a president of Resources for the Future -- had to cancel and have been replaced by Ned Helme, president of the Center for Clean Air Policy; and Keith Trent, Duke Energy's group executive and chief strategy and policy officer.

Acclaimed futurist Alvin Toffler will speak at lunch and will be available for brief interviews afterwards. Toffler's studies of change, and the impact of change on business and culture have influenced decision makers for more than five decades.

Five alumni also will be recognized at the conference: William P. Carmichael, chairman of mutual funds advised by Bank of America, Hinsdale, Ill.; Joseph P. Clayton, chairman of the board of Sirius Satellite Radio Inc., New York; Marla Gottschalk, chief executive officer of The Pampered Chef, Ltd., Addison, Ill.; Catherine A. Langham, president of Langham Logistics Inc., Indianapolis; and Jay L. Schottenstein, chairman of the board of Schottenstein Stores Corp., Columbus, Ohio.

A news release, bios and photos for Liveris, Malone, Toffler and Solso are available online at https://newsinfo.iu.edu/news/page/normal/4582.html.
