Mike Burton takes over IURTC finances

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Mike Burton is the Indiana University Research and Technology Corporation's new vice president of finance and chief financial officer.
Burton's 25-year accounting career has included assisting companies and organizations with financial management, budgeting, strategic planning and financial reporting. His professional experience includes working with business owners and organization stakeholders exclusively within the small business sector including not-for-profit, government, retail and service businesses.
Burton joins IURTC from his most recent position as chief financial officer with a local not-for-profit organization. He was the finance director for a full service city in northwest Florida before returning to Indiana in 2005. Burton was also a partner with a certified public accounting firm in Lafayette, Ind., with 12 years experience consulting with small business clients.
Burton holds a B.S. in accounting from Ball State University and is a licensed certified public accountant in both Indiana and Florida. He is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the American Institute of CPAs.
