MEDIA ADVISORY: IU economists to present forecast for Indiana and nation on Thursday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University's Kelley School of Business will present its national, state and local economic forecasts for 2008, beginning with a presentation on Thursday morning (Nov. 1) in Indianapolis, followed by similar events in 10 other cities across the state.

Editors: Given the current interest in the health of the economy, including the impact of a meltdown in national housing and lending markets, rising fuel prices and a potential recession, this event will be of interest to all Hoosiers.

WHAT: The presentation of the 2008 Business Outlook Panel forecast by faculty of the Kelley School.

WHEN: Thursday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 a.m.

WHERE: The Westin Indianapolis Hotel, 50 S. Capitol Ave., (Grand Ballroom III) in downtown Indianapolis.

WHO: Presenting will be Jerry Conover, director of the Indiana Business Research Center; John Boquist, the Edward E. Edwards professor of finance; Philip T. Powell, clinical associate professor of business economics and public policy and chair of the Evening M.B.A. Program; and Willard Witte, associate professor of economics and co-director of the Center for Econometric Model Research.
