Nominations sought for the IU Asian/Pacific American Alumni Distinguished Award

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University currently is accepting nominations for its IU Asian/Pacific American Alumni Association's annual Distinguished Asian Alumni Award.
Previous award winners have made significant contributions to their chosen profession, are committed to enhancing academic excellence and community service and have been been involved with the Asian Pacific American community.
Previous winners have included Belle Liang, an education professor at Boston College and a national expert on youth mentoring; and Yoshito Kawahara, a third-generation Japanese American who overcame life in a World War II internment camp to become a successful scholar and a leader of the Asian American Psychological Association.
The recipient for the award will be honored at the IU Asian Culture Center's 10th Anniversary Banquet on Oct. 3, 2008.
Applications are available online at https://www.indiana.edu/~asianaa. Nominations are being accepted until Feb. 29.
