C-SPANís Campaign 2008 bus to make a stop Thursday at IU

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University students, faculty and Bloomington area residents will have an opportunity to join thousands of others who have boarded C-SPAN's Campaign 2008 Bus as part of the "Road to the White House" tour when the bus stops at IU this Thursday (May 22).

The bus will be on the circle drive of the Indiana Memorial Union, 900 E. Seventh St., from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The 45-foot mobile production studio is on the campaign trail to promote and enhance C-SPAN's comprehensive political coverage. It is currently traveling to high schools, universities and major political events, such as the recent Indiana primary. Since its January 2007 launch, the bus has been to 29 state capitals, 71 universities and 95 schools where 278 elected officials, 2,750 teachers, more than 21,650 students and four presidential candidates have been on board.

"With historic levels of interest in the presidential primary race, we're excited to hit the road with the Campaign 2008 Bus," said Jeremy Art, C-SPAN marketing representative. "As the political network of record, we're pleased to offer a variety of resources for educators, students and first-time voters at Indiana University."
