Friday, August 1
9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Conference registration and coffee
10-11:30 a.m.: Opening remarks, welcome, and presentation by Black Curtain
11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.: Brown bag lunch with playwrights with remarks from Jonathan Michaelsen
2-4:30 p.m.: Panel: Female Playwrights of the African Diaspora featuring Rachelle Gold (North Carolina Central University, Durham), Ben Foster (Southern Illinois University, Carbondale), Laura Dawkins (Murray State University, Kentucky) and Charles Mehler (Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge)
4:30-6 p.m.: Writing workshop with Amy Evans
7:30 p.m.: Play reading
Saturday, August 2
9 a.m.-1 p.m.: Playwrighting workshop with Amy Evans
9-10 a.m.: Coffee and conversation
10 a.m.-1 p.m.: Panel: Black Theatre: Challenges and Definitions featuring Jaye Austin Williams (University of California, Irvine), Wayhu Seno Aji (Stya Wacana School of Foreign Languages, Saltiaga, Indonesia), Edris Cooper-Anifowohse (Indiana University) and Sheila V. Baldwin (Columbia College, Chicago)
1-3 p.m.: Brown bag lunch with IU undergraduate student panel; discussion of "The role of white actors in black theatre: the case of Robert O'Hara's American Maul at IU," led by Kelly Lusk and American Maul castmates
4-5 p.m.: Keynote address, Obie Award-winning playwright Ed Bullins
5:30-7 p.m.: Dinner
7:30 p.m.: Play reading: Bulletproof Hearts, by Robert Alexander followed by party and open mic
Sunday, August 3
9 a.m.: Undergraduate playwrighting showcase with playwright respondents
11 a.m.: Closing remarks, acknowledgements
