Nov. 3, 2008
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Much has been reported about the role of the youth vote in the 2008 elections. The Indiana Memorial Union Board at Indiana University is having an Election Day party Tuesday (Nov. 4) in the Frangipani Room of the IMU, 900 E. Seventh St.
Luke Russert, an NBC News correspondent at large who focuses on youth issues, will be reporting live from IU Bloomington for MSNBC and NBC throughout the day and from the event, getting students' reactions to the election results.
The event -- which will begin at 6 p.m. -- is free and open to IU students, faculty and staff.
"This is a hands-down win for IU students and Union Board," said Meghan Krueger, Union Board seminars and events director. "People across the country will hear what students have to say on this historic election night. Once again, Union Board is elevating the voice of IU students and working to bring students of every background together."
The Indiana Memorial Union Board has brought thousands of programs to the IU community since its inception in 1909. Union Board is composed of 16 student and four non-student directors responsible for campus programming that entertains and educates the IU community and is the governing body of the IMU. The Indiana Memorial Union Board offices are located in room 270 of the Student Activities Tower in the IMU. For more information about Union Board, call 812-855-4682 or e-mail ubpr@indiana.edu.
