ABA's Stonier Graduate School of Banking joins with IU's Kelley School in online business education

The American Bankers Association has entered into an alliance with Indiana University's Kelley School of Business and the University of Massachusetts that will enable its ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking students to receive credits toward a master of business administration degree.

Stonier students will be eligible for up to nine academic credits through both schools' online graduate programs.

"Online MBA programs have been increasing in popularity and appeal," said Donald Mengedoth, chairman of the Stonier Board of Advisers and past ABA president. "This is a wonderful opportunity for Stonier students and graduates to expand their banking education at such prestigious schools as Indiana University and UMass."

IU's Kelley School of Business offers a Web-based MBA as well as master of science degrees in finance, strategic management and global supply chain management. Indiana University will award a Stonier graduate up to nine academic credits toward an MBA degree and up to six academic credits toward an MS degree.

"We at the Kelley School of Business are delighted with our partnership with the American Bankers Association," said IU Kelley School Dean Dan Dalton. "Our faculty's talent in educational innovation enables us to create close relationships with the corporate community and construct programs according to their needs.

"You are known by the company you keep, and this is indeed terrific company. Most importantly, however, it is the students who will benefit from the concerted efforts and resources of this partnership."

Since 1999, the Kelley School has offered the Kelley Direct Online MBA program, which was the first fully online MBA offered among nationally ranked top-20 business schools. The Kelley School has developed similar specialized programs for General Motors, United Technologies, John Deere and other companies.

The ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking is a three-year executive management program that develops the leadership, managerial and analytical skills bankers need to be successful. Since its inception in 1935, more than 15,000 bankers worldwide have earned Stonier diplomas. For more information about Stonier, contact Ann Friedman at 1-800-BANKERS or visit
