The list recognizes programs that achieve a grade-point average of 3.00 or higher in the fall semester. The 341 men's and women's teams, representing 241 colleges and universities, is the largest number of award recipients since the CSCAA raised the criteria for selection in 2008.

"There is nothing that makes parents, coaches and administrators more pleased than high level academic achievement from successful teams," said Ray Looze, head swimming coach. "We are very proud of the women's swimming and diving team here at IU and look forward to adding our men's team to similar stature."

The Indiana women's swimming and diving team achieved a 3.25 team GPA in the fall semester, which ranks sixth among all Big Ten schools. The Hoosiers are preparing for next week's Big Ten Championships, Feb. 17-20, in West Lafayette, Ind. Indiana is the reigning Big Ten champion.
