The Indiana University Innovation Center Advisory Council will help to establish policy relative to the highest and best uses of the IUIC facilities and also help with guidance on tenant selection and retention. Start-up life science and information technology companies that wish to apply for space at the center will soon be able to apply online at the Innovate Indiana Web site at https://innovate.indiana.edu/.

Advisory council members include: Ron Walker, president of the Bloomington Economic Development Corp.; Bill Stephan, IU Vice President for Engagement; Tony Armstrong, president and CEO of IU Research and Technology Corp.; Sarita Soni, Vice Provost for Research, IU Bloomington chemistry professor Ted Widlanksi.

"I am thrilled to sit on the Advisory Council and really appreciate the continued efforts on behalf of Indiana University to partner with Bloomington's business community," Walker said. "The Innovation Center will be a key determinant in Bloomington becoming a cutting edge information technology and life sciences start-up community and we're glad to assist in that effort."

As a business incubator, the Bloomington facility provides office and lab space for life science and informatics start-up companies, as well as assistance with business development, intellectual property protection and trademark expertise. Start-up companies in the new facility will also have access to extensive resources on the Bloomington campus.
