2010 Tailgate Tour schedule announced

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 12, 2010

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The IU Varsity Club and IU Alumni Association announced the schedule today (April 12) for the annual Tailgate Tour which will begin in Chicago on May 17 and continue with eight additional Indiana stops through August. Head coaches Tom Crean, Sherry Dunbar, Felisha Legette-Jack, Bill Lynch and Todd Yeagley, and athletic director Fred Glass will be featured during the tour.

The Tailgate Tour is an opportunity for Hoosier fans to support IU Athletics and learn about the success of our student-athletes both on and off the field. It also allows IU's head coaches to thank fans and alumni and provide insights on the 2010-2011 football, basketball, soccer and volleyball seasons.

We are really looking forward to another record-breaking tour and hope to see a lot of new Cream and Crimson fans this year."

"This is an exciting time for IU Soccer as we begin a new chapter in our proud and storied program," added Todd Yeagley, head coach of men's soccer. "I look forward to meeting and interacting will our great fans and loyal Hoosier supporters."

What the coaches are saying

"I'm so excited to be a part of the tailgate tour again this summer. Last summer was a great opportunity to meet Hoosier fans from all across Indiana and share the growth of our program and get them excited about volleyball. It was also a chance to spend more time with other coaches and spend quality time together -- 24 sports, 1 team!" -- Volleyball Head Coach Sherry Dunbar

"We are excited about the future of Indiana women's basketball and can't wait to get out around this great state to tell our amazing fans that the best is yet to come. I'm thrilled to not only talk about our program, but also tell our Hoosier Nation that the addition of Cook Hall has made our facilities second to none. The Tailgate Tour is such a fun event and a great way of sharing the outstanding accomplishments of Indiana Athletics." -- Women's Basketball Head Coach Felisha Legette-Jack

"The Tailgate Tour is one of my favorite events. Last year's turnout was remarkable and the support from Hoosier Nation showed why IU fans are the best in the country. It will be great to see old and new faces as we travel throughout the state and to Chicago." -- Men's Football Head Coach Bill Lynch

"It is always an honor to meet and spend time with so many Hoosier fans throughout the state. "Everywhere we go, you can feel a level of enthusiasm that is inspiring. It reaffirms my belief that Indiana is a special place and our supporters are among the most loyal in the country." -- Men's Basketball Head Coach Tom Crean
