Hoosiers Move into tie for third at Big Ten Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team made a charge up the leaderboard during the third round of the Big Ten Championship at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex on Saturday, posting a score of 14-over 302 (298-298-302---898) to move into a tie for third heading into Sunday's final round.

The Kampen Course played difficult for the entire field as the average score on the day was 77.98, over three shots higher than round two.

Indiana's 898 total is four shots back of second place Iowa and 19 behind the leading Illinois (293-288-298---879).

David Erdy recovered from a tough start and charged up the leaderboard to tie for third after a 2-over 74 (73-72-74---219). Erdy is 3-over for the tournament and sits two shots behind the leader, Luke Guthrie of Illinois, who is at 1-over. The Boonville, Ind. native played the final 17 holes at 2-under after beginning with a nine on the opening par-5 10th.

Chase Wright and Corey Ziedonis are in the top-20 heading into the final round. Wright is 7-over for the tournament and tied for 13th after posting a third round 75 (74-74-75---223). Ziedonis recorded a 5-over par 77 (74-74-77---225) in the third round and is tied for 20th at 9-over.

Brant Peaper recorded his lowest score of the weekend, posting a 4-over 76 (77-78-76---231) to move him into a tie for 32nd.

David Mills posted an 8-over 80 for the second straight round. The freshman from Evansville, Ind. is tied for 50th at 22-over for the tournament.
