Hoosiers fall at Northwestern to snap 15-game win streak

Evanston, Ill. -- The Indiana Hoosiers (35-16, 14-3 Big Ten) saw their 15-game win streak come to an end on Sunday, as the Northwestern Wildcats (23-18, 5-11 Big Ten) got a grand slam from Marisa Bast in the fifth inning that proved to be the difference in the 4-1 loss.

Indiana's lone run came in the first inning when Jenna Abraham was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and two outs. The Hoosiers finished the game with four hits, led by Samantha Heyman's two-hit performance.

Morgan Melloh (30-15) suffered the loss for the Hoosiers, giving up four runs - three earned - on five hits while walking four and striking out four.

The Hoosiers return home for the final weekend of the regular season when they host Purdue on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game will begin at 4:00 p.m. and will be carried LIVE on the Big Ten Network. Saturday's game will start at 1:00 p.m. with Senior Day festivities starting 15 minutes prior to first pitch.
