FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 15, 2011
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Because Bernadette Peters will star in Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman's Follies on Broadway beginning this summer, IU Auditorium has rescheduled her concert for Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012.
The performance time of 8 p.m. will remain the same.
"We will be excited to welcome Bernadette Peters in the spring semester, fresh from her starring role in the revival of Follies on Broadway," said Doug Booher, director of IU Auditorium. "This recent casting is yet another testament to her ongoing vocal and stage prowess, and we are honored to have an opportunity to share her talent with our community."
With a girlish speaking voice as distinctive as her trademark red curls and an awe-inspiring vocal range, Tony Award-winning actress Bernadette Peters has long been the sweetheart of the American stage and screen. Since Peters made her Broadway debut in 1967 in Johnny No-Trump, she has racked seven Tony Award nominations, winning two for Best Actress in 1985 for Andrew Lloyd Webber's Song and Dance and in 1999 for in Annie Get Your Gun.
She will perform a variety of Broadway hits during her February performance at IU Auditorium.
The 2011-2012 IU Auditorium season opens with Jon Stewart on Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tickets are still available to his 10 p.m. show, as well as to all of the events on the season.
