Trustees to hold town meeting with students

The Trustees of Indiana University will hold a town meeting on student issues as part of their regular meeting on Jan. 25 at IU Bloomington.

The town meeting, which will be open to all students, will take place during the meeting of the board's Campus Community Committee. The committee will convene at 10:15 a.m. in the Oak Room of the Indiana Memorial Union.

Students may address the trustees on any subject of their choosing, with the following guidelines:

(1) Each speaker will have five minutes to address the trustees.

(2) Speakers are encouraged to present issues that pertain to all students, not just themselves.

Students wishing to address the town meeting must submit their names and topics to Robin Gress, secretary of the board, by Jan. 24. Submissions may be sent via email (rgress@indiana.edu) or dropped off at the board's office in Room M005 on the mezzanine level of the IMU.

The board, which is spending much of the current academic year looking at various aspects of the undergraduate experience, will begin Friday's activities with a two-hour policy seminar on international students. After the town meeting, trustees will visit Wright Quad as part of their scheduled activities.
