Women's tennis scores home sweep

The Indiana University women's tennis team dominated in its dual match double-header Jan. 28 in Bloomington. The Hoosiers topped Western Michigan and Butler by a 7-0 margin in each match.
Against Western Michigan, Indiana's (3-1) Kayla Fujimoto and Evgeniya Vertesheva won at No. 2 doubles and Sophie Garre and Shannon Murdy teamed at No. 3 for victories in those matches to take the double point.

In singles, Leslie Hureau (No. 1), Vertesheva (No. 2), Carolyn Chupa (No. 3), Katie Klyczek (No. 4) and Fujimoto (No. 5) all swept their respective matches. Alecia Kauss went the distance to a third set at No. 5 and earned the win in the deciding set, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1.
In the Butler match, Indiana swept the doubles portion to get the first point. The Hoosiers switched up the lineup against the Bulldogs in singles and won convincingly in each match. Vertesheva (No. 1), Klyczek (No. 2), Chupa (No. 3), Fujimoto (No. 4), Kauss (No. 5) and Murdy (No. 6) won in straight sets to earn the 7-0 team win.
Indiana will next be in action on Saturday, Feb. 4, when the Hoosiers travel to Cincinnati for a double-header. IU will open the day against University of Cincinnati at 11 a.m. ET and wrap up play against Xavier at 4 p.m. ET.
