Indiana University Bloomington campus closed until noon
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Feb. 14, 2007
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana University Bloomington campus was closed until noon today (Feb. 14) due to weather conditions. The decision was made at 5 a.m. by Terry Clapacs, vice president for administration.
Although streets in Bloomington and Monroe County were considered passable at 5 a.m., several adjacent counties had declared snow emergencies and were urging motorists to stay off the roads. Because many IU employees and students live outside the immediate Bloomington area, Clapacs decided to close the campus until noon, when road conditions were expected to be better.
