HHE Statehouse Visit 2010

An estimated 500 students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of Indiana University packed the North Atrium of on the Statehouse in Indianapolis on Feb. 2 for the 19th annual Hoosiers for Higher Education Statehouse Visit. Participants heard talks by IU officials and state lawmakers, then met with their own legislators to discuss higher-education funding and related issues.

IU Northwest students Denise Yzaquirre of Hobart and Leticia Turner of Gary speak with their state senators, Lonnie Randolph and Earline Rogers, outside the Senate chambers in the Statehouse. Hoosiers for Higher Education day gives members of the IU community a rare opportunity to speak directly with elected state officials.
