Media advisory: IU President Adam Herbert begins work
Adam W. Herbert will begin his tenure as president of Indiana University on Friday (Aug. 1).
He will have limited media availability Friday morning, with the following schedule:
Photo and video opportunity will begin at 8:45 a.m. CDT at Bryan House, the president's residence on the Bloomington campus. President Herbert will leave Bryan House and walk across the campus to his office in Bryan Hall, Suite 200 (at the corner of Kirkwood and Indiana avenues). Frederick F. Eichhorn, president of the IU Board of Trustees, will be in the office to greet the president.
Herbert will meet informally with reporters for a short time in the foyer outside his office immediately upon arrival. Should you plan to attend, we suggest you arrive no later than 9 a.m.
Herbert was named IU's 17th president on June 5. He has served as Regents Professor and executive director of The Florida Center for Public Policy and Leadership at the University of North Florida since 2001. From 1998 to 2001, Herbert led the nation's second-largest university system, serving as the sixth chancellor of the State University System of Florida. A longtime higher education leader in Florida, he served as the president of UNF for nearly 10 years, from 1989 to 1998.
