Jenkins is currently assistant dean for development and external relations at the Purdue University School of Engineering and Technology at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

"Paula will bring a wealth of experience and dedication to our regional campus development programs," Heil said in the announcement. "She will work closely with each campus in developing the best agendas for fundraising and achieving new levels of accomplishment."

At IUPUI since 1994, Jenkins supervised annual, major and planned giving programs for the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology. She formerly was development director for Sigma Kappa Foundation in Indianapolis.

"Paula will be a great asset to our regional campuses as they actively pursue their fundraising goals. We will look to her to take a leadership role in the design and growth of our development programs across the state of Indiana," Applegate said in announcing the Jenkins appointment.

Jenkins was selected at the conclusion of a nationwide search for the vice president position by the Indiana University Foundation. Nasser H. Paydar, chancellor of Indiana University East, led the nine-person search committee.

"Paula Jenkins is an excellent appointment for both Indiana University and the IU Foundation," Paydar said. "I thank the search committee members for their commitment of time and excellent work, and enthusiastically welcome Paula to a new partnership that will advance IU statewide."

Jenkins is a member of the international board of directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and past president and governance chair of the Indiana chapter of AFP. A member of the Engineering Development Forum and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, she earned her bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of Arizona.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals-Indiana Chapter honored Jenkins as the Fundraising Executive of the Year in 2007. She also is a past recipient of the Doris H. Merritt Outstanding Leadership Award at the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI. Jenkins earned the CFRE -- certified fund raising executive -- professional certification in 1999.

Jenkins will assume her new position Oct. 4.
