IU Bloomington classes to resume at 1 p.m.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Feb. 2, 2011

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana University Bloomington campus is open. Classes will resume at 1 p.m. today, Feb. 2 (That is, classes that begin at 1 p.m. or later will be held, unless students are informed differently by individual instructors). The resumption of classes was pushed back from 10 a.m. to give building and maintenance crews more time to complete de-icing and clearing of parking lots and sidewalks.

Although wintry conditions are expected to continue throughout the day, no additional accumulations of snow and ice are expected. Streets and sidewalks are open and passable. Students are expected to use good judgment in wearing adequate clothing for the windy conditions.

Employees are reminded that the Adverse Weather Policy remains in effect. Employees are expected to use good judgment in traveling to and from work and should not endanger themselves or disregard the recommendations of local officials.

The Blue Man Group concert scheduled for this evening at the IU Auditorium will take place. The scheduled men's basketball game against Minnesota at Assembly Hall is expected to start on schedule at 6:30 p.m.
