BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- MBA Entrepreneurship Academy members at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business will join student colleagues from Boston University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on April 19-20 in Boston at the third annual Velocity Conference, an event designed to refine and accelerate the students' entrepreneurial careers and aspirations.

Fifty students from the three business schools will have the opportunity to meet chief executives from high-potential businesses, the venture capitalists funding them, and other individuals instrumental in launching these endeavors.

"The Velocity Conference is an opportunity for students to hear candid stories from those who have been there and done it," said Betsy Gatewood, director of the Indiana University Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation and adviser of the MBA Entrepreneurship Academy. "The conference develops and equips aspiring entrepreneurs at a pivotal point in their careers and expands the entrepreneurial base in the state of Indiana."

The Velocity Conference, to be held at Boston University School of Management, will feature Jackie Eastwood, chief executive officer of TissueLink Medical; Aram Mooradian, chief technology officer of Novalux; Devin Hosea, CEO of Predictive Networks; and Jim Pearson, CEO of Suros Surgical Systems.

Jack Gill, founder and general partner of Vanguard Venture Partners, will host a series of fireside chats with the entrepreneurs and glean from them their personal stories about founding and growing their businesses. Students also will have an opportunity to obtain entrepreneurship career planning advice in a workshop led by Gill.

A venture capital panel will feature Mike Carusi, partner, ATV; Jeff Fagnan, partner, Seed Capital; and Matt Harris, partner, Village Ventures, who will offer their unique perspectives to conference participants.

"Students will be provided unhindered access at the conference to a veritable who's who of venture capitalists, company founders and CEOs," Gatewood said.

In addition to IU, MIT and Boston University, conference sponsors include the Jack Gill Foundation, Spring Mill Venture Partners LLC, Limestone Capital Partners LLC, Inflexion Capital LLC, Indiana Technology Partnership, and Central Indiana Corporate Partnership.
