Campus locations announced for tuition forum

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 3, 2006

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Teleconference locations have been announced at all Indiana University campuses for the April 5 Indiana University Board of Trustees open forum to hear student and public comment on proposed tuition and mandatory fee increases for some IU students for the 2006-07 academic year.

The forum will begin at 3 p.m. in the Dogwood Room of the Indiana Memorial Union on the Bloomington Campus. Questions and comments for the board can be submitted by e-mail before and after -- but not during -- the hearing.

The hearing also will be broadcast to teleconference sites at IUPUI and all regional campuses, and it will be made available live on the Internet at https://broadcast.iu.edu.

Here are the teleconference sites:

  • Indianapolis, IUPUI: Education and Social Work Building, room 2101
  • Columbus, IUPUC: Center for Teaching and Learning, Room 1618
  • Richmond, IU East: Whitewater, Room 119
  • Fort Wayne, IPFW: Kettler Hall, Room G20
  • Kokomo, IUK: Main Building, Room 111
  • Gary, IUN: Hawthorn Hall, Room 338
  • South Bend, IUSB: Northside Hall, Room 038
  • New Albany, IUS: Knobview Hall, Room 112

Individuals wishing to watch the proceedings or participate during the public comment section may do so from any site. Additional information about the forum can be accessed at https://www.indiana.edu/~tuition/

The forum will focus on recommended tuition and fees for non-resident undergraduate students, and resident and non-resident graduate and professional students on all campuses. The board is scheduled to act on the recommendations during its business meeting Friday (April 7) at IU Southeast.

Tuition and fees for resident (Hoosier) undergraduate students were approved by the board last May as part of a two-year package. The combined tuition and fee rate for these students will increase by 4.9 percent for the 2006-07 year.
