Tenth Street traffic restrictions to begin June 12

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University announced today (June 6) that it will be replacing the steam, condensate and domestic water piping serving the Ashton Housing Complex beginning June 12.

This work will require the following traffic restrictions. West-bound traffic on 10th Street will be re-routed north at Union Street to Law Lane and Jordan Avenue. East-bound traffic on 10th Street will be restricted to the west-bound lane of 10th Street between Campbell Street and the entrance to Crosstown Shopping Center. All businesses within the Crosstown Shopping Center will be accessible during the construction activity, and signs will identify the local access.

A map of the Bloomington campus is available at https://www.iub.edu/~iubmap/.

The traffic restrictions will be in place until Aug. 23, when full two-way traffic will be restored to 10th Street. The utility work will proceed outside the 10th Street right-of-way through October.

The purpose of this work is to upgrade the steam and domestic water systems serving the remaining nine buildings in the Ashton Housing Complex.
