FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Feb. 18, 2008

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University School of Continuing Studies representatives from each IU campus will be on hand to discuss with legislators their many relevant workforce development and continuing education programs that serve communities throughout the state and that contribute to the state's economic development.

The program will take place on Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A luncheon and recognition program will begin at 11:30 a.m. All activities will be held in the North Atrium of the Statehouse.

This year's event will include exhibits, a catered lunch and a lunchtime recognition program that will feature Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman, state Rep. Peggy Welch, and state Rep. Matt Pierce, as well as special guest Susan Schricker, a continuing studies alumna from the South Bend campus. Several awards will also be given during the program. This year's award recipients include state Sen. and assistant minority floor leader Vi Simpson; IPFW professor of philosophy William Bruening; Terrence Gilhooly, a continuing studies alumna from the IU Northwest campus; and Mary Grove and Kathleen Lally, both former directors of IUPUI and Ivy Tech coordinated programs.
