FASE marks Black History Month with annual art fair

EDITORS: This release contains corrected information.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University Bloomington's Faculty and Staff for Student Excellence (FASE) mentoring program will celebrate Black History Month by hosting its annual art fair.

An African dance workshop originally scheduled to begin this week has been cancelled.

The purpose of the fair is to bring people together in celebrating diverse aspects of African and African American history.

The art fair is open to students and adults in the Bloomington community. The artwork may be a sculpture, painting, fiber art or drawing, and it must be an original piece that represents something about Black History Month. There will be prizes for the student and non-student catergories. The deadline for registration is Feb. 17. The art show will take place on Feb. 24 in the Indiana Memorial Union's Frangipani Room.
