Live From Bloomington began in 1985 as a Union Board project to raise awareness about hunger. Each year, submissions are collected from area musicians and artists and compiled for a CD that captures the current Bloomington scene. The two-day annual club events complement the album by allowing all of the selected musicians to take the stage in multiple Bloomington venues and perform for their community.
Proceeds benefit Hoosier Hills Food Bank, a nonprofit organization in Bloomington that collects and distributes food, groceries and prepared food in a six-county area. Relying on a small staff and generous volunteers, the food bank makes available more than 30,000 pounds of food annually to more than 100 non-profit feeding organizations.
