IU Diversity Committees to meet in April

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 3, 2009

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University Diversity Committees are scheduled to meet on five IU campuses in April.

On Monday, (April 6) the Indiana University Bloomington Diversity Committee will meet at 3:30 p.m. in the Charter Room of the Indiana Memorial Union on the Bloomington campus.

On Wednesday (April 8), the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Diversity Management Group will meet at 3 p.m. in Room 133 of the Administrative Office (AO) Building on the Indianapolis campus.

On Friday (April 10), the IU Northwest Diversity Committee will meet at 1:30 p.m. in the Library Conference Room on the Gary campus.

On April 14, the IU South Bend Diversity Committee will meet at noon in Room 3300E of Wiekamp Hall on the South Bend campus.

On April 20, the IU East Diversity Committee will meet at 3 p.m. in the Community Room of Whitewater Hall on the Richmond campus.

The Indiana Code requires that similar committees be formed on all campuses to review and recommend faculty employment policies concerning diversity issues; review faculty and administration personnel complaints concerning diversity issues; make recommendations to promote and maintain cultural diversity among faculty members; and make recommendations to promote recruitment and retention of minority students.
