Glenn Black Laboratory of Archaeology celebrates Indiana Archaeology Month

Sept. 11, 2009

WHAT: An open house in celebration of the state of Indiana's Archaeology Month.

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 12, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., tours of collections and lab areas given every hour on the hour; tours of areas not usually open to the public will be held on the half hour.

WHERE: Indiana University'sGlenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology, 423 N. Fess Ave.

Guided tours of exhibits on Indiana archaeology will be given every hour on the hour at Indiana University's Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology. Tours of collections and laboratory areas that are not usually open to the public will be held on the half hour.

In addition, there will be a special exhibit on "How Archaeologists Discover and Map Sites" on display. This exhibit will show research on archaeological sites by scientists from the Glenn Black Laboratory, the Department of Anthropology, and the Mathers Museum. These projects range from the Paleoindian through historic periods and are from sites across North and South America.
