INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana University Research & Technology Corp. (IURTC) today announced that entrepreneur Ping Poulsen, president and chief executive officer of Safis Solutions, will join IURTC's board of directors.

Safis Solutions, which Poulsen founded in 2002, assists pharmaceutical, medical device and biotech companies worldwide in meeting global health authority requirements by providing consultation services in the areas of regulatory approval, quality compliance, validation and information technology services.

Poulsen has experience leading projects to combat cardiovascular, infectious, oncologic, diabetic, orthopedic, neurologic, and pediatric diseases. She is regularly called upon to serve as an adviser and speaker at life sciences venues.

"Ping started her company as a tenant in IU's Emerging Technologies Center and she works closely with early stage companies so she knows well the unique needs and challenges they face," said Tony Armstrong, president and CEO of IURTC. "Ping works internationally quite a bit so she will bring that perspective to our board discussions as well ".

IURTC stimulates growth in Indiana's technology sectors by helping companies develop commercially viable technology, with the ultimate goal of creating jobs and growing the state's economy.
