Media Advisory: IU to announce new funding for networking hub in Indianapolis to expand global research

Editors: Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie, IU Vice President for Information Technology Brad Wheeler and IU Director of International Networking James Williams will be in Indianapolis today (Monday, Aug. 2) to announce two major new funding awards to create and enhance international network services designed to facilitate scientific collaborations around the globe. Media tours of IU's new Global Research Network Operations Center will begin at 1 p.m. with a news conference to follow at 2 p.m.

WHAT: Announcement of major new funding to enhance international networking services provided by IU's Global Research Network Operations Center (Global NOC) in Indianapolis.

WHEN:

WHERE: Informatics and Communications Technology Complex atrium, 535 W. Michigan St. (corner of West and Michigan streets), Indianapolis. Media may park on the left side of the loading zone/circle drive adjacent to the Michigan Street entrance of the ICTC, located at 535 West Michigan (at the corner of Michigan and West Streets). Alternatively, media may park in the ICTC loading dock area just off California Street.
