BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University and Campus Management Corp. are embarking on the next phase of their strategic partnership to develop a Lifetime Communications and Advancement System for IU, the IU Foundation and IU Alumni Association.

This phase extends constituent relationship management (CRM) to include prospect tracking and gift processing, which will address the university's communications and institutional advancement needs.

Since 2009, IU has partnered with Campus Management to roll out its constituent relationship management software for managing data and communications for all campuses and schools. Now, the organizations are collaborating to integrate Campus Management's Talisma Fundraising software, a donor and alumni management system, with its Talisma CRM software.

IU's unique agreement with Campus Management for its Talisma® CRM and Fundraising products made it the nation's first major, multi-campus university to elevate constituent communications to a university-wide platform inclusive of all schools, its alumni association, and the university foundation.

"IU and our essential partners at the IU Foundation and Alumni Association believe that the future requires a new, comprehensive view of our relationships with many IU constituencies," said IU Vice President for Information Technology and CIO Brad Wheeler. "We are taking an integrated, strategic approach in implementing an Enterprise Advancement System (EAS) in support of communication, giving, alumni, and engagement for the university, the IU Foundation, and the Alumni Association."

In addition to helping IU sustain and enhance lifelong relationships as individuals' relationships with the university evolve, the new EAS produced by Campus Management enables the university to coordinate and deliver focused, personalized information to alumni and friends using the media platforms and information channels they prefer. The system also incorporates management of pledges, gifts, volunteers, and other critical resources with research capabilities to better understand and proactively serve more than 580,000 of IU's alumni, donors, and other supporters.

"The IU Foundation and Alumni Association are pleased to begin work on this second phase for systems to support IU's development and advancement professionals," said Gene Tempel, president of the IU Foundation. "The Lifetime Communication project that we launched in 2009 will span from first contact to the many ways the friends and alumni of IU support the university."

Timothy B. Loomer, president and chief executive officer of Campus Management Corp., reinforced that "IU has the pulse of what today's students and supporters expect from their university experience. IU and Campus Management share a vision for highly scalable technology that provides constituents with rapid service in a very personalized way."

University Information Technology Services continues to lead the university-wide implementation of Campus Management's CRM software. For answers to frequently asked questions, see https://newsinfo.iu.edu/news/page/normal/11344.html.
