BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Media are invited to attend a reception from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3, for the grand opening of the extension to Indiana University's Ruth Lilly Auxiliary Library Facility at 851 N. Range Road in Bloomington.

The Auxiliary Library Facility is a high-density shelving facility for IU Bloomington Libraries books, manuscripts and rare film collections. It provides low-cost housing with conservation-level environmental controls for library materials.

With the new extension, the facility now has the capacity to store between 5 and 6 million items within 583,000 cubic feet of space.
