BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana University Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Alumni Association's Homecoming 2011 will be held this weekend (Jan. 28-30), coinciding with the Bloomington Pride Film Festival for the third consecutive year.

"The GLBT Alumni Association Homecoming events have truly become a much anticipated annual part of our social calendar," said Rob DeCleene, GLBTAA president. "With confirmed attendees from as far away as California, the weekend is a testament to the thriving network of GLBT alumni, friends, faculty, staff and students of Indiana University -- the rainbow spotlight promises to shine brightly on Bloomington that weekend."

In addition to the film festival, weekend highlights include a reception and silent auction at Grazie Italian Eatery; a continuing education seminar, "Rainbow Law and Money: Planning for Your Future," covering domestic partner benefits, adoption and financial planning; and a popular social at the Kinsey Institute Gallery where this year's special exhibit is "As We See Them: Exotic and Erotic Images from Modern Alternative Process Photographers."

"From 2009 to 2010 the GLBTAA Homecoming more than doubled in attendance," says Rachael Jones McAfee, director, alumni programs. "The Kinsey event alone had at least 240 in attendance last year. The Homecoming brings the community back to the IU Bloomington campus."

Weekend events range in price from free to $20. To purchase tickets and register for events, go to https://alumni.indiana.edu/glbtaa/homecoming.shtml or contact Sarah Pappanno, alumni programs assistant, at 812-855-6120 or spappano@indiana.edu.
