FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 1, 2011
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Adobe and Indiana University Information Technology Services (UITS) are partnering to bring Adobe Days this Monday and Tuesday (April 4-5) to the IU Bloomington and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis campuses.
The events showcase popular uses of Adobe tools and resources that aid in teaching, learning, and innovating at the university, as well enhancing digital lifestyles. The events take place Monday at IU Bloomington from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Frangipani Room at the Indiana Memorial Union and Tuesday at IUPUI from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Informatics and Communications Technology Complex (ICTC) lobby.
Throughout each campus's Adobe Day, Adobe -- in partnership with Teaching & Learning Technology and UITS IT Training staff -- will offer a range of exploratory options to fit with the interests and availability of IU students, faculty, and staff.
"From interactive multimedia and print production, to teaching and learning, Adobe Days has something for everyone," said Bob Flynn, IU's manager of IT community partnerships. "Attendees can participate in quick training sessions, in-depth discussions, and demonstrations covering many of the tools and resources available via IU's software agreement with Adobe."
Event activities include:
- Mini demos on Adobe's extensive product lineup
- Presentations on topics ranging from creating digital documents to teaching with Adobe Connect
- Community showcases displaying innovative multimedia work by IU students, faculty, and staff
- Hands-on photo and video creation using Adobe's creative applications and green screen
- Q&A sessions with Adobe representatives
Additionally, presentations focused on teaching with Adobe technology will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at IU Bloomington and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at IUPUI. Staff from IU Bloomington's Center for Innovative Teaching & Learning and IUPUI's Center for Teaching & Learning will host sessions on teaching with Adobe Connect and using Adobe Presenter and Captivate.
