BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center at Indiana University Bloomington is sponsoring the fourth annual Youth Empowerment Workshop this Satuday (April 16).

Girls and boys in grades six through eight are encouraged to register and attend the workshop, which will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the center, 275 N. Jordan Ave.

Audrey T. McCluskey, director of the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center, said the interactive games, activities and skill building exercises will be geared to "encourage the instinctive creativity and leadership potential of young people in this age group."

"In addition to a tasty lunch and special prizes, students will be exposed to and guided through activities that build and promote self-confidence and ways to discover and unveil their hidden talents for future careers," she said.

The program will include an interactive session on social networking and how to stay protected on the Internet.

Parents may download an application at the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center website at https://nmbcc.indiana.edu/ or call its office at 812-855-9271. This workshop is free and open to all Bloomington area students.
