McGraw-Hill Education joins IU eTexts initiative
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sept. 15, 2011
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Fresh off last week's announcement of pioneering eTexts agreements, IU announced today (Sept. 15) an additional agreement with McGraw-Hill Education to deliver eTexts for students on all IU campuses. By some accounts, McGraw-Hill Education is IU's largest supplier of course materials.
"IU is delighted to include the substantial eTexts and online service offerings of McGraw-Hill Education for our students," said Brad Wheeler, IU vice president for information technology and chief information officer. "The McGraw-Hill partnership provides faculty the option to license digital course materials at a great value for students via IU's eText initiative."
IU's eTexts agreements with publishers help reduce the costs of course materials for students, while providing digital tools for computers, mobile phones, and tablet devices. Students have access to both online and print versions that suit their study needs, and they will have ongoing access to all of their eTexts as long as they are students at IU.
"Colleges and universities across the country face a wide range of challenges," said Tom Malek, vice president, Learning Solutions, McGraw-Hill Higher Education. "We have the resources and expertise to support institutions and instructors as they work to increase students' achievement. By deepening our relationships with leading institutions like Indiana University we can continue to drive educational progress."
