BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Grammy Award-winning artist Paul Simon will perform at IU Auditorium on November 20 at 7:30 p.m. with an opening act by Punch Brothers. Tickets will go on sale Friday, Sept. 30, at 10 a.m.

The set list will draw from Simon's iconic career, including songs that haven't been performed live in many years. Also included will be tracks from his newly recorded and critically acclaimed album, So Beautiful or So What (Hear Music/Concord Music Group, released in April), his first new album in five years.

Simon earned rave reviews on the spring leg of his U.S. tour. The Los Angeles Times praised his "rich, perfectly programmed concert," noting that "he received countless ovations" from the sold-out crowd. The Chicago Tribune summed up the tour's powerful intimacy, saying, "Paul Simon has played stadiums and festivals. He's done Central Park. So it was a treat to see one of the most venerated songwriters of the last half-century turn the sold-out Vic Theatre into his living room."

Joining Simon once again on the road are Cameroonian guitarist Vincent Nguini, drummer Jim Oblon, pianist Mick Rossi, saxophonist/ keyboardist Andrew Snitzer, bassist Bakithi Kumalo, guitarist Mark Stewart, master percussionist Jamey Haddad and multi-instrumentalist Tony Cedras.

"We are extremely proud to have the opportunity to host this iconic singer-songwriter," said IU Auditorium Director Doug Booher. "His successes span decades, and he has given voice to generations across the country and even the world. Having Paul Simon perform on our stage to our campus and Bloomington audience will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience."

Through his solo and collaborative work, Simon has earned 13 Grammys, including the Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2001, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and, in 2006, was selected as one of the "100 People Who Shaped the World" by Time magazine. Among many other honors, Simon was named the first recipient of the Library of Congress's Gershwin Prize for Popular Song in 2007.

This concert is presented by Jam Productions & Outback Concerts.
