BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- It's time to show your stripes, Hoosier Nation.
Indiana University invites Hoosier fans both near and far to show pride in their team and school by wearing cream and crimson on Thursday, March 28, as part of "Show Your Stripes Day."
As the number one seed in the East Region of the NCAA men's basketball tournament, the Hoosiers will continue their pursuit of a sixth banner in a Sweet Sixteen match-up against four-seed Syracuse on Thursday in Washington, D.C.
Tip-off is at 9:45 p.m. ET, and the game will be available on CBS and the IU Radio Network.
"This team is a reflection of the values and character of Indiana University," said JT. Forbes, executive director and CEO of the IU Alumni Association. "We are bringing the Hoosier Nation to the nation's capital. Our alumni, fans and friends are drawn here to support a team they can celebrate for its academic, athletic and personal integrity."
Ever dreamed of being on the floor at Assembly Hall? Members of the university and surrounding community are invited to be part of a "Stripe the Floor" video. Come to the south entrance of Assembly Hall at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 28. Women are asked to wear white and men to wear red. Organizers aim to showcase 350 fans in the video, which will be shared with Hoosiers across the globe.
The "Show Your Stripes Day" prize patrol will also be on the Bloomington campus Thursday afternoon, handing out red and white beads, pom pons and other spirit gear. For updates on where to find the prize patrol, follow @IUBloomington on Twitter.
