The Apprentice's Kwame Jackson to present "lessons from the boardroom" at IU Bloomington
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana University chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants, in the Kelley School of Business, and Kappa Alpha Psi will present a lecture by Kwame Jackson, first runner-up from the first season of the popular NBC program "The Apprentice," on Thursday (Sept. 29).
Jackson will speak on "Lessons from the Boardroom," beginning at 7 p.m. in Alumni Hall of the Indiana Memorial Union, 900 E. Seventh St. The event is free and open to the public.
Jackson is polished, confident and credentialed with prestigious Wall Street experience, a degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Harvard MBA degree, and business lessons he learned from Donald Trump in front of 22 million people each week on the hit show "The Apprentice."
His professional experience includes sales and marketing roles at Procter & Gamble and, most recently, on Wall Street as an investment manager for Goldman Sachs. It was his no-nonsense attitude and ability to be a team leader that made him stand out on "The Apprentice."
Jackson has since co-founded Legacy Holdings LLC, an emerging and diversified holding company positioned to engage in real estate development, fashion, television and film production. Legacy Holdings -- founded with business partners Dave Smith and Erik Moses -- announced their plan last fall to partner with two other firms on an estimated $3.8 billion mixed-use real estate development called Rosewood, located on 500 acres just outside of his native Washington, D.C. The development will include homes, offices, restaurants and stores.
The lecture is sponsored by KPMG, Rolls Royce, Crowe Chizek & Co., Cummins Inc., Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young, Katz, Sapper & Miller, Pricewaterhousecoopers and Target Stores.
