Sound Medicine -- Hear the latest news on everything from Alzheimer research to West Nile virus on Sound Medicine, a radio show that educates and encourages listeners to make sound health decisions. Produced by the Indiana University School of Medicine and WFYI Public Radio, this weekend's (Feb. 4-5) edition of Sound Medicine features discussion on the increase in parents' reluctance to vaccinate their children; a new program that can teach CPR in as few as 20 minutes; major medical ethics stories from 2005; and at-home teeth whitening. NIFS, or National Institute for Fitness and Sport, is located on the IUPUI campus and offers group fitness classes, a fitness center and wellness education, among many other services and programs. The medical group that resides at NIFS also administers not only an executive health program but also a clinic which assesses a variety of health issues and fitness issues -- such as asthma, back and spine injury, pediatric and adolescent orthopedics, sports medicine, and sports psychiatry and stress management. Kids with disabilities love camping and! IU's Bradford Woods give them plenty of opportunity to swim, ride horses and just have fun. Bradford Woods is well-known throughout the Midwest for its many special camps. For example, Camp Little Red Door is for kids, ages 8-18, who have been affected by cancer, both those who are currently receiving treatment and those who are in remission -- and bringing a sibling or a friend is encouraged.
