IU Writers' Conference to include nightly public readings
A popular feature of the Indiana University Writers' Conference will continue this year with a series of evening readings open to the public free of charge.
Several of the featured faculty for the 62nd annual conference June 23-28 will read excerpts from their published poetry, fiction and non-fiction works during the evening presentations. The conference is expected to attract more than 100 aspiring writers from throughout the United States.
The reading programs will start at 8 p.m. unless otherwise noted, in Whittenberger Auditorium at the Indiana Memorial Union. They will begin on June 23 with poetry by Lucia Perillo and fiction by Reginald McKnight. On June 24, Andrew Hudgins will read poetry and Erin McGraw will read fiction. On June 25 at 7:30 p.m., Michael Martone will read creative non-fiction, Karen Volkman will read poetry and Paul Lisicky will read fiction.
On June 26, Roger Mitchell will present some of his poetry and Molly Giles will discuss fiction. On June 27, Manuel Luis Martinez will read fiction. On June 28, Mark Doty will read poetry.
